Influences

There are quite some Spanish influences on the lives, during and after their occupation here in Micronesian (F.S.M.). For example, the language. Some words that are still in use today were borrowed from the Spaniards and Japanese, but we will focus only on Spanish.

Each state of the Federated States of Micronesia is influenced in a different way and some not so much as the other states. For example, Kosrae didn't have that much Spanish influence because it was occupied by American missionaries who assisted with the transition of the traditional leadership into the democratic government. As for Pohnpei, it undergo a whole lot more influences than Kosrae.
