SUSAN J. MOSES, Professor

Originally from the State of Illinois in the United States, Susan holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Liberal Arts (Psychology) from the University of Illinois and a Master of Arts Degree in Special Education from the University of Oregon

Susan first came to Pohnpei in 1972 to work with the Community College of Micronesia on a project to develop instructional reading materials in the Pohnpeian language. She served as Special Education Coordinator and an instructor at the College from 1973-1977 when she and her family moved to Saipan. She served as a Resource Room Teacher and as a Resource Room Supervisor with the Department of Education in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands for two years. When Susan and her family returned to Pohnpei in 1981 she served as the FSM Special Education Coordinator from 1981-1983 after which she returned to teaching at the College for the next 10 years. From December of 1993- December of 2001 she served as President of the College. She is currently a professor with the COM-FSM Division of Education where she specializes in courses in reading methods, educational psychology, and classroom management.

She is married to FSM Senator Resio Moses, and they have four children and six grandchildren.
