Snoop-City on Internet; Anything about Anyone Anywhere
by Brandon Iriarte
Everyone wants to know something creepy. What if someone opened up your email letters and read them? Does that sound creepy? There is new software invented by a forty year-old Seattle man by the name of Richard Eaton. Mr. Eaton introduces us to the newly made cd rom called 'WinWhatWhere Investigator'. This new invention was created by Mr. Eaton in 1993. The product was initially made for government purposes but Mr. Eaton has since 'refined' it. He said that his whole life he "worked hard on his software" and that this product is his invention and not an offshoot of any other programs, governmental or private ones. As of 2002 Mr. Eaton has sold over 200,000 copies of his new 'snoop-software'.
This software is made to spy on other people. In fact, Mr. Eaton's first assignment in the electronic field was to create software to guard people's privacy. Previously known by the nickname of 'Mr.Guard-my-Privacy', (until now, anyway), Mr. Eaton has said that it is "ironic" that he has become the author of a software program that does the exact opposite of the program he initially created. It is illegal to snoop on other's privacy and we could of course, call it trespassing. Mr. Eaton does not care as long as it makes lots of money; he will still continue to make and sell more copies.
Now doesn't that sound creepy?
