Course Title: Industrial Safety
STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES
General Objectives
This course will focus on the need for trainees to have
sound knowledge about chemical, biological and physical hazards and how to avoid
injury. It
is designed to ensure that the trainee is aware of his/her
obligation in the
workplace that includes correct reporting procedures and
the proper use of
safety equipment.
Specific Objectives
Students
will be able to:
1.
apply Basic First Aid. (Red Cron)
2. explain
the importance of the HazCom (Hazard Communication Standard) requirement and
MSDSs (Material Safety Data Sheets)
3. describe Am prevention and fire fighting techniques.
4. define
safe work procedures around electrical hazards.
5. demonstrate
the use and
care of appropriate personal
protective equipment.
