Course Title: Industrial Safety in the
Electrical and Electronics Industries
STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES
General Objectives
The
students will develop safe workplace habits to prevent injury to themselves and
others. The students will understand the minimum requirements to work safely
in the Electrical / Electronics Industry. The Electrical/Electronic Industry
is a potentially a dangerous industry, students require instruction in accident
prevention,
the identification of possible hazards and basic precautions to assist in the
promotion of a safe working environment.
Specific Objectives
Students
will be able to:
1. understand
how a person can receive an electrical shock and the effects of electrical
shocks.
2. know
how to prevent electrical shocks and how to provide treatment for electrical
shocks
3. know
how to suppress electrical fires.
4. recognize
and identify safety colors.
5. understand
and follow hand and electrical tool precautions.
