Specific
Students will be able to:
1.1 read a broad range of printed materials in
Pohnpeian for a variety of purposes to measure fluency and prosodic reading
exercises and comprehension questions.
1.2 analyze Pohnpeian literature as a form of human expression and develop the
ability to:

compare other cultures to Pohnpeian
culture and relate insights through verbal and written expressions and/or
essays.

identify verbal and written
expressions or essays of other ethnic/racial groups and societies.

identify and describe universal and
unique qualities of individuals in essay papers, etc.
2.1 develop writing/reading materials for the teaching of the Pohnpeian
orthography.
3.1 employ a wide range of strategies to generate written texts and to
communicate effectively in Pohnpeian to different audience for
varied purposes.
4.1 apply knowledge of language conventions, grammar and language usage to
create, critique and discuss print and non-print texts.
