Course Title: Directed Field Experience
STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES
General
Through this course the student will:
1.
Observe, first hand, what it is like to work with an agricultural
organization in Micronesia.
2.
Gain career related experience in an area of personal interest.
3.
Develop contacts in the local agricultural community.
4.
Provide a
service to the community through volunteer work.
Specific
Students will:
1.
Together with the instructor, develop a list of personal
expectations for the practicum.
2.
Volunteer for at least 48 hours with an agricultural organization
or enterprise.
3.
Develop and carry out a work plan in conjunction with the
instructor and site supervisor.
4.
Keep a reflective diary outlining the day to day highlights of the
experience.
5.
Participate in at least 5 observation visits by the course
instructor
6. Demonstrate at
least one concrete outcome of the practicum for evaluation.
