21st Founding Day Celebrated
Palikir Pohnpei (April 3, 2014) - The College celebrated its 21st Founding Day on April 1, 2014, at the college’s National Campus in Palikir. This year’s Founding Day was celebrated through fundraising with the theme of “Celebrating Diversity through Culture and Sports.”
The Day kicked-off with a coronation ceremony held at the FSM-China Friendship Sports Center. The Princes and Princesses representing their five teams (Red, White, Purple, Blue, and Green) paraded through the gymnasium to the sights of close to 400 screaming spectators.
The Purple team of Mathan Eperiam and Dilina Rose Tom were crowned the King and Queen of this years Founding Day Coronation Ceremony. The purple team fundraised a total of $8,045.40. Second place honors went to the Red team made up of of Trevor Phouay and Cari Gajdusek with a total of $2,010.00. Third place went to the Blue team with Dicklet Daniel and Britney Rose Esguerra with a total of $1,879.08. Coming in fourth was Team White composed of Chanbert Ruben and Jayma Gouland, with a total of $1,500.00. Nena Nena Jr. and Zoya Lisa Sigrah as Team Green in fifth place accumulated a total of $720.00.
The Coronation ceremony was followed by fun games held at the National Campus grounds were faculty, staff, and students participated.
