Konan City University Exchange Students Visit National Campus

Palikir, Pohnpei (March 14, 2014) – Nine exchange students accompanied by an instructor from Konan City University in Japan visited the College’s National Campus from March 3 – 11, 2014. The Japanese visitors stayed at the Female Residential Hall all throughout their visit.

The exchange students were guided and supported by the Social Science Club and Micro Japan Club lead by their President Rico Rico and Vice President Ryan Eliwise.

They toured both the National and Pohnpei campuses and attended some of the classes offered at both campuses.

The students had a chance to meet with College President Joseph M. Daisy, Ed.D., where they were welcomed and were given gifts as a tokens of appreciation.

The group was able to visit some of the scenic spots on the island such as Nahn Madol, Keperoi waterfalls, Sokehs Ridge, and Nahlap.

According to Micro Japan President Rico Rico, “the Japanese students were just stunned by the beauty of the island and the hospitality of the people. They truly enjoyed their stay here in Pohnpei.”

A dinner reception at Sei restaurant was arranged last night on their stay on island. Cultural presentations were showcased by both the Japanese and COM-FSM students.
