Micronesian Cultural Studies Class Presents Final Project
Palikir, Pohnpei (December 9, 2013) - The Micronesian Cultural Studies class (SS195) did a presentation on Micronesian Culture as part their final project during the week of December 2-6, 2013.
According to their Instructor Delihna Ehmes, the class' final project is a reflection on and assessment of the outcome of the course, “Participate in project-based learning on a theme in Micronesian cultural studies.”
The presentations were in the form of power point and demonstrations. The topics included Clans of Pohnpei, Beliefs of Black magic in Micronesia, asking for forgiveness (in Pohnpeian which means Peki mahk); and making local baskets and mwaramwar (leis).
Behind each presentation students shared the significance of the beliefs and practices.
