APAFS Holds Student Education Conference at COM-FSM

Palikir, Pohnpei - The Asia Pacific Association of Fiduciary Studies (APAFS) held a Student Education Conference on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at the College of Micronesia-FSM National Campus. 

Mr. Jason B. Miyashita, Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist (CRPS®), Accredited Investment Fiduciary Analyst (AIFA®) and Instructor, gave a valuable presentation about money, savings, and investments.During the presentation he encouraged his audience, made up of business administration and computer information systems majors, to start saving early and consider investing rather than spending all their money. "Instead of working hard to earn money," he said, "you should make money work hard for you."

On behalf of the students, both Young Executives Society (YES!) President Chris Yamada and Bright Young Tehcno Entrepreneurs (BYTE) President Bernie Suzuki expressed their thanks and appreciation to Mr. Jason Miyashita for his very informative presentation and to APAFS for sponsoring the event.

The student education conference was made possible through the initiative of Mr. Miyashita and in coordination with COM-FSM Comptroller Danilo Dumantay, who oversaw the timely arrangements for proper venue and facilities as well as free breakfast for the participants, courtesy of APAFS.

Business Administration Division (BAD) faculty, on the other hand, provided full promotional support by inviting business and CIS students to the conference.
