Educational Talent Search Program Spelling Bee
The College of Micronesia-FSM Educational Talent Search Program in partnership with the Rotary Club of Pohnpei and MAHI International, registered 12 elementary schools to participate in the National Spelling Bee competition, which starts on January 21, 2013. Students have been studying for the spelling bee competition as early as October 2012. The purpose of this project is to improve students in areas of spelling, increasing of vocabularies, learning of concepts and to develop correct grammar in the English language. Winners of the competition will advance to a statewide competition. The winner of the state competition will represent Pohnpei and the FSM in the regional competition, which will be held in Guam on March 2013.
The public is invited to support the students by showing up at the spelling bee competitions.
