[RFP] For KC Generator House Design and Build/Generator Installation

RFP No. B2021-36

PURPOSE:   The College of Micronesia-FSM is soliciting sealed bid proposals from any qualified and licensed contractor to design and build a generator house, including generator installation at our Kosrae Campus site.

SCOPE OF WORK:   All interested bidders must prepare proposals to reflect the following scope of work below and in accordance to the Owner’s requirements specified in the bid package.

• Design and build a generator house for the Denyo diesel generator Model: DCA-150ESK (150KVA), 3-phase 208 volts.
• Generator house must be designed and built to withstand the wind load of 100 mph wind.
• Generator must have a clearance of minimum 36” from walls, panels, columns and fence.
• Design and construction of the power house to include underground conduits to connect to the panels, generator, transformer and secondary power distribution system.
• Install generator and connect generator cables to control panels including main disconnect switches and ATS and connect to power distribution system.
• Design and install grounding system for the generator.
• Contractor shall be responsible to comply with all KUA regulations, requirements and also be able to furnish all expenses during power connection and disconnection process.
• Contractor shall do all electrical works complying with the NEC code and International Building codes.
• Design and build concrete access road minimum 6” thick concrete and 12 feet wide from the east parking lot to the Power house as shown in the bid package drawing.

BID PACKAGE:  Interested bidders may pick-up bid package at Kosrae Campus Dean’s Office starting October 11, 2021 during working hours from 8:00-5:00pm.

PRE-BID CONFERENCE:   Interested Bidders are encouraged to attend the Pre-Bid Conference and site visit on October 26, 2021, 2:00pm Kosrae Time.

BID SUBMISSION DEADLINE:  All bids must be sealed in an envelope, labeled “RFP No.B2021-36” and submitted directly to the contact person below no later than November 24, 2021, 2:00pm Kosrae Time.

TERMS/CONDITIONS:  All proposals serve as the basis for Contract, if any between the successful bidder and the owner.  The College of Micronesia-FSM is NOT bound to accept any proposal, or award a contract, nor responsible for any costs associated with bidder’s preparation and submission of any proposal. 

REVIEW RIGHTS: The College of Micronesia-FSM reserves the right to accept or reject any or all responses to this RFP and to enter into discussion, or negotiations with one or more qualified bidders at the same time, if such action is in the best interest of the College of Micronesia-FSM.
