United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s wife Mrs. Susan Pompeo Visits the College

Palikir, Pohnpei (August, 5, 2019) - Mrs. Susan Pompeo paid a courtesy visit to the College of Micronesia-FSM’s National Campus to engage and dialogue with several students and the college administration.  College President & CEO Joseph M. Daisy EdD, Vice President for Instructional Affairs Karen Simion and Director Instructional Affairs Denise Oen welcomed Mrs. Pompeo to the college.

Mrs. Pompeo met with student film makers and asked the students what inspired them. Student filmmaker Destiny Etse related that “what inspired me to be part of this is to preserve the history of our Islands, most of our elders our passing away, along with the stories and history of our Islands. I want to preserve the culture and history through my videos and pictures."

Mrs. Pompeo was eager to meet with the students and know about the projects and work that they have done; specifically work in which they collaborated with National Geographic. Mrs. Pompeo told the students to work hard, to make every step count, and strive to help the community preserve the history of the islands.
