Kosrae Campus Held Nature Conservancy Trip to YELA Ka Forest
On November 03, 2017, Kosrae Campus students and a few staff members embarked on a Nature Conservancy trip to the Yela Ka Forest. Mr. Erick Waguk, Kosrae State Forester, was invited as the tour guide-speaker for the trip. Mr. Waguk shared with students and staff members the importance of preserving the Yela Ka Forest for its watershed and for other eco-system purposes it serves. It is also critical to preserve this forest since it is the last Terminalia Bio-Reserve on planet earth. Everyone enjoyed the trip, the food, the boat ride, and most especially, the information sharing and new conservancy knowledge they gained from the trip.
