Interactive Flat Panels Installed as Classroom and Teaching Enhancements

Palikir, Pohnpei (June 22, 2016) – Information Technology (IT) installed Smartboard Interactive Flat Panels as part of classroom and teaching enhancements at the College. The installations are an upgrade to the Smartboard Projections systems that are in use throughout the College campuses.

‪As part of the initial pilot phase, four new boards were installed in main teaching computer labs before the outset of the 2016 Summer session. When asked if the other State campuses will see the same upgrades, IT Director Gordon Segal shared that “ yes, they have been shipped and will be installed in the coming months aimed to meet the 2016 Fall semester.”

Director Segal also shared that these new flat panels bring excellent technology enhancement to the classroom and improved return on investment compared to costly bulbs that came with previous projection systems employed. The picture quality of the new boards is superb and they are equipped with built in speakers for audio purposes. Each Smartboard comes with interactive software that instructors can leverage to further enhance instruction.
