College Celebrates 22nd Founding Day
The event kicked off with a parade of floats from Chuuk (ChuChok), Kosrae Students Organization (KSO), Pingelap and Mwokil (Pingmwok), Pohnpei Campus, the National Campus, the Yap Students Organization (YSO), Friends of Xavier (FOX), and Warriors of OLMCHS Leadership & Foundation (WOLF). The parade marched from the Spanish Wall in Kolonia to the Pohnpei State Track and Field where they were greeted by faculty, staff, students and the community of Pohnpei.
Board of Regents Chairman Churchill Edward gave welcoming remarks and thanked all the individuals who made the activity possible; recognizing those behind the scenes for their relentless teamwork to make a successful event.
In attendance were guests that included Governor John Ehsa, US Deputy Chief of Mission to the FSM, Mr. Hugues Ogier, COM-FSM Board of Regent Kasio Mida, and Postmaster General Ginger Mida.
Five judges were selected to critique the performances. President Daisy and Scott Snaden awarded the winners for best float at the end of the event. The KSO took first place for the best float, followed by YSO, and Pohnpei Campus coming third.
