Duties:
Under the supervision the UBP Director, assesses each individual participant’s college and career goals; prescribes and monitors the progress of individual’s action plan goals and objectives. Monitors individual’s progress in submitting college applications, financial aid forms and other associated matters. Plans, designs, and coordinates all educational and counseling services. Teaches subject areas as required. Conducts workshops to program participants and provides personal counseling as needed. Organizes college tours and orientations. Attends seminars, workshops, meetings and conferences required for the maintenance of UBP activities. Designs and implements survey needs assessment and diagnostic testing. Administers evaluation and assessment for counseling purposes. Supervises tutors as needed. Serves on committees as necessary. Performs other duties as directed by UBP Director.
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from a US accredited four year college or university with major coursework in educational counseling, social sciences, or related field, and two years of progressively responsible experience in providing education services, counseling or other assistance to students or related groups. Foreign credentials must be equated to US standards using World Education Services at http://www.wes.org. Knowledge of: Upward Bound programs and organizations, their goals and objectives; policies and regulations related to the field of assignment; techniques and procedures used in academic and personal counseling; principles and practices of modern office management. Ability to: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with high school students, faculty, staff, and community; learn the specific techniques needed to fulfill student services, activities program assigned; plan, schedule, evaluate and review work activities and programs; analyze effectiveness of program and make appropriate modifications within scope and assigned responsibility; work with a diverse faculty, staff and high school students; work as part of a team in accomplishing tasks and functions.
